A Tall Oregon Grape (Mahonia aquifolium) is a hardy, evergreen North American shrub known for its holly-like, spiny leaves, bright yellow spring flowers in clusters, and edible, blue-purple berries, named for their grape-like appearance but unrelated to true grapes, serving as a valuable native plant for wildlife and low-maintenance landscaping. It's the state flower of Oregon and can grow 5-10 feet tall, tolerating shade and dry soils.
