Puget Sound
Wetland Ecologies

The Puget Sound Native Tree Botanical Garden and Dolphin Place support many of the region's Forest Ecologies.

​

We are a lowland forest situated on the shore of Little Manzanita Estuary on Bainbridge Island.

​

Our forest is unique for such a small location with both a mature wet cedar/hemlock forest and a mature dry doug/grand fir forest.

​

These are the two major Puget Sound ecologically vegetative forest zones identified by Arthur Kruckeberg in his seminal work :
