Salmonberry (Rubus spectabilis) is a native North American shrub in the rose family, known for its edible, raspberry-like fruit that ripens in yellow, orange, or red hues and provides early forage for wildlife, thriving in moist Pacific Northwest forests and forming dense thickets. These juicy berries are eaten fresh or made into jams and jellies, and the plant offers nectar for pollinators, food for birds and mammals, and medicinal uses for some Indigenous peoples.
