A red huckleberry (Vaccinium parvifolium) is a native, deciduous shrub in the Pacific Northwest known for its bright green, angled twigs, small pinkish flowers, and tart, edible red berries that grow on rotting logs, providing food for wildlife and people. These berries are slightly sour and packed with vitamin C and antioxidants, making them great for eating fresh or using in cooking.
