A Nootka Rose (Rosa nutkana) is a hardy, native North American shrub from the Pacific Northwest, known for its large, fragrant pink flowers, sharp thorns, and nutritious red hips, forming dense thickets that provide excellent wildlife habitat and erosion control, thriving in moist, sunny spots. It's a vital plant for birds, mammals, and pollinators, with edible (but seedy) hips used for teas and jellies.
