Snowbrush (*Ceanothus velutinus), also called sticky laurel or mountain balm, is a native evergreen shrub known for its shiny, often sticky, fragrant leaves and clusters of creamy white flowers in spring, resembling dollops of snow, thriving in sunny, dry spots and providing great pollinator support, though it's less common in the immediate wet sound areas than further east in the Cascades.
