A Baldhip Rose (Rosa gymnocarpa) is a small, native North American shrub known for its dainty, fragrant pink flowers and its unique, smooth, scarlet-orange "hips" (fruits) that remain attached without their leafy sepals, giving it the "bald" name. It's a wildlife-friendly plant, providing food and shelter in woodlands and forests, tolerating shade, and spreading by underground runners, making it an important understory species
