Provenance

Noble Fir

Needles

Noble fir needles are distinctive: they're blue-green, about 1-1.5 inches long, flattened with a groove on top, and curve upwards, giving them a "hockey stick" shape that sweeps away from the branch, often with two silvery-white lines on the underside, creating a soft, combed appearance ideal for Christmas trees

Noble Fir

Cones

Noble fir cones are large, cylindrical, and grow upright on branches, featuring unique, protruding, "whiskery" bracts that stick out from the scales, giving them a distinct feathery look, and they typically disintegrate on the tree, so finding whole cones on the ground is rare. They start green or purple and ripen to brown, revealing those prominent bracts before falling apart to release seeds

Noble Fir

Bark

Noble fir bark starts smooth, gray, and blistered when young, then transitions with age to a rough, reddish-brown texture with thick, furrowed plates and narrow ridges, sometimes appearing scaly or blocky.
