About the event
We are opening the Dolphin Place Open Space (and Puget Sound Native Tree Conservancy) for public tours to celebrate over 50 years in existence.
One of the oldest forests left in Puget Sound: Natural History and Native Plant Tours: Sundays 10:30-12:30 and 1:30-3:30. Cost $20/person.
Located at Dolphin Place Open Space, a small private two-acre mature forest and estuary containing over 150 species native to Bainbridge. The tour will be conducted by longtime resident and steward, Al Philips. The talk will cover a two-hundred-yard rough trail through five distinct small eco-systems, focusing on the identification, interrelationships and histories of the plants and small animals of Bainbridge.
Maximum attendance 15 per tour. Wear hiking clothes capable of getting dirty. Not suitable for children under 14 or people not able to navigate the steepest trails of the Grand Forest.
