Dolphin Place Creek Ecologies

The Puget Sound Native Tree Botanical Garden supports 2 creeks.  The largest is part of the estuary proper, running through the middle of the bay at low tide.  Its source is from a 1000 acre watershed and runs year-round, but the fully fresh water portion is upland from the Garden property.  Its fkow rate is fairly constant at 1000 gpm. The second creek is seasonal runoff from the hill above the site and connects the four ponds of the property,  It runs perhapps 3 months a year and at maximum flow delivers about 50 gpm.  Normal flow during the rainy season is less than 1 gpm.
