Bitter Cherry

prunus emarginata

A bitter cherry (Prunus emarginata) is a North American native shrub or small tree known for its fragrant white flowers, reddish-brown bark with horizontal lines, and small, bright red to purplish, very bitter fruits that are edible for wildlife but generally not for humans. It thrives in disturbed areas, often forming thickets, and provides good habitat, attracting pollinators and birds.
